Cabrillo National Monument San Diego

Cabrillo National Monument – Located in San Diego, California, the Cabrillo National Monument provides a historic lighthouse with plenty of activities. There are great views here also, with tidepools, flora and fauna, whales to observe, and even military history.

The Monument offers hiking along designated trails, bicycling on paved roadways, and swimming within the park boundaries. Fishing is permitted here also, with hook and line – although just one fish could also be taken. When walking the paths and exploring, make sure to get on the lookout for cliff areas, as they can be very unstable.

A lot of tourists come to the memorial to enjoy the breathtaking views of the San Diego Bay and the Pacific. Due to this very reason, the park has become one of the simplest harbor views anywhere in California – or the planet, for that matter!

• How to reach this monument? FROM DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO Take Harbor Drive past the airport. Turn left onto Rosecrans Street. Turn right onto Cannon Street to turn left onto Catalina Blvd. (also known as Cabrillo Memorial Drive.) Follow Catalina Blvd. all the way to the end.
• Monument Operating hours: All Park hours start to operate from 9 am to 5 pm.

The tidepools are great to visit here also, although you should always take care. Albeit they’re great to admire, the surface could also be very slippery.
