Havasu Falls in Arizona – This time, we will talk about desert oases. Yes, Havasu Falls in Arizona is a virtual Garden of Eden at the end of a grueling 10-mile walk to the southwest corner of the Grand Canyon. Not many people ever reach the turquoise pool and a hundred-foot cascade here. They were too busy fighting the crowds in the Grand Canyon’s South Circle. However, that is their loss. Havasu Falls is hard to get to but well worth the effort.
Havasu Falls in Arizona has been the destination of the avid hiker and adventure seeker in the Grand Canyon for years now. As a result of this ever-increasing demand, the impact on the Havasupai has grown too large. So, there are some significant changes this year for booking your Hiking and Camping trip to the Falls.
The trail is about four hours by car from Phoenix or Las Vegas, the two closest airports. Most people hike to the falls, but mule trips can also be arranged at certain times of the year.
You can stay at the Havasu Falls campground or the simple but comfortable Havasupai Lodge in the village of Supai.
The campground is an area spanning a mile on both sides of Havasu Creek between Havasu Falls and nearby Mooney Falls. There are no assigned sites, meaning, once you arrive, you’re welcome to set up camp wherever you like within the designated area.
